WOWsers! After many months using Android sticks as an XBMC media centre, and shunning the Raspberry Pi due to its single core 700Mhz CPU! I was in for quite a shock! This is Bluray quality! Out of all my android devices none play HD content as good as the Pi! 1080p with NO dropped frames! In fact I made a statement on twitter that if you are using an android stick your probably missing half of the frames!! The actual menus and workings of XBMC feel quite slow! But hey, your not using XBMC to navigate menu's you want to watch content in the best quality possible! And for that reason, I strongly recommend you get yourself a Raspberry Pi Model B 512Mb!! After a bit of help from a fellow Pi user I have managed to work out that you need a FAST SD card (basically that's your hard drive) So Class 10 in the post as I type! Also overclocking even marginally will help! I am just in the process of creating an openelec version of my ever popular XBMC aidymp style zip for the Pi. Hopefully this will be ready to try over the weekend! I will be selling the zip as well as a physical SD card for this version and hopefully a ready made media centre!! Stay tuned! don't forget to add me on twitter for all the latest updates!! In the mean time get ordering your Raspberry Pi!
